Description of MAB High Precision Planetary Gearboxes

MB Series is a kind of super high precision and super high efficient planetary gearbox, with double support output, long span, high stability, wide surface of the sun gear and planetary gear, larger related technical parameters to accomplish high-intensity work. All gears inside the MKD servo planetary gearbox are helical design, high bite rate, smooth continuous operation, low noise, low backlash. Integrated design of inner ring and shell, high precision, high wear resistance. Integrated connection board design makes it perfectly matches with all kinds of servo motors, and stepper motors perfectly. The lowest backlash, as high as 95% efficiency and lifetime lubrication, makes the MKD helical gearbox the best choice for customers.

Features of MAB Series Planetary Servo Gear Reducer

The overall design allows the servo motor to input at high speed and achieve maximum torque output. Precision gear design and processing have characteristics of low operating backlash, high efficiency, low noise, and long life. The motor power is miniaturized, improving the stability of inertial load and reducing vibration.

Installation Steps of Precision Planetary Gearbox

Step One:  wipe off the anti-rusting additive and grease on the motor shaft.

Step Two: Remove the rubber plug.

Step Three: Rotate the input shaft to align the fastening bolt with the plug hole. Please make sure that the cap screw is loosened. If there is a shaft sleeve attached, please install it according to the figure below.

Step Four: Place the reducer vertically in a flat place so that the motor mounting face of the planetary gearbox is upward. Insert the motor shaft into the input shaft slowly to avoid hitting the input shaft. Please make sure that the flange of the motor is close to the flange of the servo gearbox. Tighten the motor mounting bolts based on the designated tightening torque (please refer to table 1)

Step Five: Use a torque wrench to tighten the clamping bolt according to the designated fastening torque( Refer to table 1)

Step Six: Install the rubber bolt. The whole installation procedure is finished.

Inner Construction Configuration of MB Planetary Gear Head

The lubrication structure of the MKD planetary gearbox is mainly applied to the inner screw gear structure to ensure high-efficient output. On one hand, it could reduce the axial thrust generated by the running of the planetary gears. On the other hand, it could increase lubrication, and reduce friction and noise.

Configurations of MAB Precision Planetary Reducer Gearbox

  • Aluminum alloy die-casting ADC12 is used to make the housing and the flange of the MKD gearbox.
  • Planetary gears’ material of MB precision gearbox is, the surface hardness value of MB planetary reducer is about HRC58~62, and the inner hardness data is around HRC33~40
  •  20CrMnTi is the material of the planetary gears of the MB servo gearbox. The surface hardness of the MB planetary reducer gearbox could reach HRC58~62 and inner hardness can be up to HRC33~40, which highly ensures the gear box’s high rigidity.
  • Good material of 40Cr is used to make the ring gears.
  • High precision gears are applied in MKD planetary gear systems to ensure the high precision of the whole gearbox.
  • A motor bushing and hollow shaft with a key groove are used on the input of the MKD servo gear reducer to adapt all sizes of servo motors or stepper motors.
  •  MKD can customize the servo gearbox according to the specific requirement of the customers. Output shaft with a key, hollow shaft output with a key groove inside, output shat with round shaft are three options that available.
